Thursday, June 19

It was an early morning for us in order to catch our 8 o'clock flight to St. John's, NL. We stood in line at the airport for about 40 mins to get through security and consequently had to wait only a short time to embark. The flight was uneventful and I got to watch the Lego movie. It was kind of cute. Upon arrival in St. John's we called the car rental company and they shuttled us to their office in Mt. Pearl to do the paperwork. We are driving a white Ford Focus now. Since it was raining significantly we had to find something indoors so we ended up at the Johnsons Geo Centre. We walked through an exhibit about Hibernia and one about the Titanic story followed by a short movie about the earth. Since we couldn't take it all in, they are letting us come back tomorrow. We decided to dive into the local cuisine and were referred to Ches's Fish and Chips. Dinner was very tasty and filling. We did some shopping; bought a cooler, some beer, snacks, fruit and yogurt for tomorrow. Nightime found us in Torbay at our By the Sea B&B. Got to chatting with some folks from Winnipeg and Montreal about their experiences. We are pooped and planning tomorrow's activities in St. John's.
